A Study on Changes in Arterial Blood Gases before and After Hemodialysis in Chronic Renal Failure

Abstract
|
|
|
The Arterial Blood Gases were checked in 25 cases of end stage chronic renal failure immediately before and after hemodialysis.
The results were as follow
1) Acidotic states of pH: 7.36±0.07, HC03-: 16.68±5.05mEq/L, BE: -5.84 ±4.9OmEq/L in prehemodialysis changed to pH: 7.45±0.05, HC03-: 20.84±5.51 mEq/L and BE: -1.72±4.26mEq/L immediately after the end of hemodialysis.
2) Immediately after hemodialysis, Pa02 fell significantly from 97.66±16.19 mmHg to 86.56±18.05mmHg(P<0.01).
3) There were no remarkable changes in PCO2 and Sa02(30.88±4.74mmHg to 30.80±7.25mmHg, 96-97±1.50% to 97.14±2.09%) respectively.
